Deepen Your Breath, Deepen Your Practice:
with Susan Mittleman
Saturday, October 21, 2:00pm-5:00pm
Yoga is based on the flow of energy, or life force, and Pranayama, yogic breathing, is one of the most powerful tools for working with this energy, or prana.
By consciously controlling the breath, we can enhance the flow of energy in the body, release deep seeded tensions, cultivate deeper awareness of the body and invite greater metal clarity.
Practicing pranayama can help heighten your own healing potential, deepen your asana practice, and prepare you for meditation.
In this workshop we will:
- Learn and practice various breathing techniques including Dirgha, Ujayi, Kapalabhati, Nadi Shodana/Anuloma Vuloma, and Aum pranayamas
- Discuss basic yoga philosophy and anatomy of pranayama
- Discuss when to use different pranayama
- Incorporate pranayama into an asana practice.
$40 per person before October 14th, $45 after
*At least six months of yoga experience recommended.
