From the Root: Yoga and the Pelvic Floor

Come join Patty Schmidt (RYT500hr and IAYT Level 1 Yoga Therapist) for this deep dive into our physical and emotional foundation. With a focus on true strength, and the alignment of breath and effort, this workshop examines the biomechanics of the pelvis and its optimal functioning, taking participants through a yoga practice focussed on hips, core and pelvic floor: familiar poses through a new lens. Explore the dynamics of the pelvis and learn to harness your strength from the very root of your body. Examine relationships between the diaphragms of the body: feet, pelvis, respiratory diaphragm, shoulder, jaw; and learn more about how we service these deepest internal elements of our strength as we age, harnessing yoga asana and pranayama against disease and dysfunction, wear and tear, and gravity. Come armed with curiosity and a levity of heart.
All levels of fitness and wellness welcome (adaptive practice available).
