Practicing at Home: Working Effectively with your Props
with Patty Schmidt

Thursdays, October 29 and November 5, 7:30-8:45pm

$40 for both sessions, $25 for and individual session

Join Patty Schmidt for this two-part workshop, exploring effective ways to get the most out of your props in your home practice. In Part 1, we’ll look at how the novel use of blocks and yoga belts can lead us to new experiences of length, height, and stability in well-known yogasana. We’ll unpack the many ways in which we can increase our engagement and attention in asana when we utilize these props, and what it feels like to set them down again (feeling their imprint and reminder). In Part 2, we’ll experience the power of soft: blankets, bolsters, and other supportive tools we may have lying around the house. We’ll take a nourishing practice that invites economy of use around propping to benefit our nervous system, at the same time that we foster a willingness to commit to our props and what they can do for us.
