YOGA CLASSES FOR PREGNANCY
Prenatal yoga serves women at every stage of pregnancy. It relieves the common discomforts of pregnancy, increases maternal confidence, and helps prepare for labor and delivery. Scientific studies now show that because of positive outcomes for labor and delivery, and for the health and wellness of the mother (including after birth), prenatal yoga should be seen as an integral part of pregnancy.
Ayla Harrison
I have happily been helping women and families have a healthy, stress-free, informed and enjoyable pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience for the past 25 years.
My desire to be a stay at home mom, combined with my enthusiasm for studying and continuing to work in a healing field, led to my next adventure in life – an extensive study of yoga. Following the tradition of T.K.V Desikachar, I have been a certified yoga, prenatal yoga and post partum yoga teacher at Emory University, the Goizueta Business School, the Pierce program and now in studios around town for the past 27 years.
My prenatal classes have evolved into a combination of pregnancy yoga, breath work and childbirth education.
I proceeded to get my DONA Doula Certification – CD(DONA), and my Lamaze childbirth educator certification to better serve my yoga students as well as other moms, to complete this amazing 9 months journey with me supporting them at their birth.
I am honored to be a part of this sacred time in a mother/couple’s life and I strive to help each one to have the birth experience that they desire – offering encouragement, advice and assistance while honoring their wishes.
